Prof. Dr. Marcus Liu is a globally acclaimed technology innovator and academic leader, recognized for his pioneering contributions in blockchain systems, FinTech ecosystems, and digital transformation. With over two decades of research and industry experience across Silicon Valley and Asia, Dr. Liu has shaped the conversation on sustainable innovation, decentralized economies, and next-generation digital infrastructure..
Before joining Woodcroft University, he served as the Chief Technology Fellow at the Global Institute for Emerging Systems (GIES), where he led multinational projects on smart contracts, cloud-native financial frameworks, and Industry 4.0 automation architectures.
At Woodcroft University, Dr. Liu spearheads the Faculty of Emerging Technologies & Innovation, where he integrates research, entrepreneurship, and education to nurture the next generation of tech visionaries. His leadership focuses on ensuring that innovation remains ethical, inclusive, and accessible across borders, preparing learners for the digital economies of the future.
Dr. Liu’s research bridges the gap between technological advancement and societal readiness. His work focuses on secure blockchain frameworks for financial transparency, AI-integrated cloud governance, and sustainable FinTech ecosystems for developing markets.
He established and currently leads the Woodcroft Center for Emerging Technology Research (WCETR) — a global think tank promoting collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers on next-generation technologies including quantum computing, decentralized finance (DeFi), and smart industry ecosystems.
His research has been published in IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing, Journal of FinTech Innovation, and International Review of Digital Infrastructure Systems.
